A little history…

The Castle of Combourg mentions a history of Brittany from the Middle Ages to today. François-René de Chateaubriand passed his childhood in Combourg, and he scribbled it in his work “Mémoires d'outre-tombe”. The castle is inhabited today by the descendants of the author. It was restored in the 19th century in the neogothic style under the influence of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc.

Castle’s visit in site lasts one hours and it is imperatively guided and commented. The visit of English park is free.
